What The %@*#?! Wednesday, 3rd Edition

The little Beast has developed a foul habit of picking his nose. All the time. Constantly. I mean, doing most everything one-handed so that he can keep a finger on the other hand crammed up his nostril to the second knuckle. It is disgusting, and I thought there was no nastier habit, but he recently took "gross" to a dirty new low.

We were driving along in the minivan when, after a few moments of unusual quiet, I heard the little Beast exclaim from the backseat, "Yummy!"

Thinking he'd dug an old french fry out of the crack in his carseat, I cringed and asked, "What's yummy buddy?"

"My booger!" he gleefully replied.

Seriously?! What the %@*#?! That is so sick. I would've preferred he eat the moldy-old-lint-covered fry. Bleck!

UGH. Eating boogers. Ewwww. My 2 year old always has her finger in her nose, so I'm sure that will come soon. Cute pic!

hehehe that's not funny. OK it is funny. But it is not. It is however a great picture.

Oh and to be the bearer of bad news...My youngest brother did not stop picking his nose (as a nervous/boredom habit) nonstop in public until in his teens.

Ewwww! :)

Oh man, he must be Diva's match. She will not leave her nose alone. I once told her "get your finger out of your nose or I will take it away" her response? "Which one?" Oy that kid. She just will not stop. She does get all buggy eyed when I catch her now though. Maybe that is a start on the road to recovery... I wish you luck. I feel your pain and anguish, lol.

Oh gosh, yes! And I guess boys like the gross things more than girls.

Love the picture! Nothing grossed me out more than when my kids ate their boogers. Unless I found them wiped on a wall somewhere. That was pretty gross, too. :(

Dropping by to welcome you to SITS - happy to have you join us!

HAAAAAAAA! I love that.. one of my brothers did this for days as a toddler. Drove mom nuts.. then turns out he has stuck a dehydrated pea up there that then expanded with the, um moisture, and he couldn't get it out. Had to go to the Dr. for removal. I'm SURE he love the scrapbook page that tells the tale!!

Oh yuck...definitely a boy thing though! He will thank you one day for posting a photo of him picking his nose on the web for the whole world to see...or not (lol)!!

That's so funny. One of my kids had the terrible habit picking the nose and sucking her thumb. We couldn't seem to break either....until I found this thumb sucking/nail biting stuff at the Wal~Mart pharmacy. It tastes horrible. We put it on her thumb and on her nose picking finger. It took care of both. She said it smells terrible and tastes worse. Maybe it'll work. There's not much that makes me laugh harder than a teenage kid picking his nose-clearly not realizing anyone's looking. It's so tempting to call them out. lol.

funny - my son is the same way!

What is with kids and putting their fingers up their nose? My daughter likes to some digging, but never (thak God!) gets anything. I don't know what I'd do if she found anything and ate it. Gross!

jennifer said...

oh no!!!

gag, gag, gag....I'm sensitive like that :)

My daughter watched her dad dig for gold the other day and tried it for herself. She laughs everytime!

Just stopping by to say hello from SITS. :)

Keri said...

Flippin' hil.ar.ious! What a crack up! Your Beast and my Beast would be best buds. They both like digging for gold. My little guy will come running over with his finger out shouting 'booger, booger, booger....' and give it to me. Nothing like a broken record with boogers on it.

Mary said...

Yep! My four year old used to do it, now his charming three yr old sister (remember her) has developed a taste for it.

I can SO relate!!!

I like you - you're on the Xmas card list this year!

Oh My Word! I'm just tickled hot pink to have discovered you CareBear! And the funny thing, had my nickname growing up not been CareBear I might never have clicked on your I Heart Faces entry (when there were hundreds to choose from). I love starting my day with your funnies!

DawnS said...

Yucky for sure but NOT just a boy thing. Don't be fooled by sweet innocent girl smiles! We had our sweetie (4.5 yr old) home less than a month when I rounded a corner just in time to see her go from nose to mouth. I shrieked "NOOOOOOO, what are you doing - DON'T EVER DO THAT!" She about hit the ceiling and started wailing the likes of which I have NEVER heard before. My "I'm sorry but I just don't do well with boogers" explanation meant nothing to a little girl that didn't even speak English yet! I thought I might have traumatized her, but I really haven't caught her doing it again since...

Stopped by from SITS this time :) Have a great day!

Oh, that is classic! What is it about kids and boogers?? My friend who grew up in China swears that Chinese children NEVER eat their boogers, and that it's just an American thing. WHAT? I don't know who they're learning it form, then, because kids "pick" up on picking long before they have school peer pressure. I think it's just natural. Natural and gross!

Momisodes said...

LOL! Great catch!

(pun totally intended :-))

Rhea said...

Oh, gross. I never understood eating boogers. But it happens. lol I understand picking them...but they do NOT look appetizing.

KIDS!
