We interrupt our regularly scheduled summer blogcation to talk about four of the little Beast's favorite people - those singing, dancing cuties from Down Under, the Wiggles! If you're a caregiver of toddlers or preschoolers and you've never heard of the Wiggles, then you must be living under a rock. Just kidding. Seriously, though, if you and your kids haven't gotten to know the Wiggles, you should!
Now, you all know that there are kids programs that I would rather gouge my eyes out than watch, and even some that are simply banned from our house altogether (remember my rant about a certain pint-sized, Spanish-speaking brunette who recently underwent a major growth spurt?). Fortunately, my little Beast and I can agree that the Wiggles are a great way to start our day!
The Wiggles are on very early here in Seattle so it's the first show that the little Beast watches when he wakes up at the crack of dawn. It's such a cheerful way for him to entertain himself while gulping down waffles and chocolate milk. The Wiggles program has a really fun, slightly retro feel - a good old-fashioned variety show for kids, with musical numbers, goofy skits and even a cartoon segment. With a campy cast of characters and a plethora of silly songs, the Wiggles is a delightfully upbeat and positive half hour of viewing pleasure (and they ain't hard to look at either!).
And this summer, we all have the opportunity to enjoy the Wiggles live on stage! That's right, the Wiggles are currently touring the States! Sam, Murry, Jeff and Anthony are bringing their friends Dorothy, Wag and Captain Feathersword to the Comcast Event Center in Everett, Washington, on Friday, July 17, 2009 and one lucky reader of this blog is going to win 4 tickets to the show! Here's how to enter:

OK so now I have 'mashed banana mashed banana' 'hot potato hot potato' in my head! We have a few Wiggles songs :)

Oh No, i thought I'd never have to hear those dreaded words again...'the wiggles' LOL! Aaron loved them, it drove me mad he would obsess and watch the same on over and over and over and over......you know they are sooooo rich now, I watched a programme, and they are worth more than kylie and on the top 5 richest in Australia list....amazing...they aren't the most talented people on the planet, but hey, if they amuse our kids, what can I say!
my almost 2-year old daughter loves the wiggles and i would love for her to see them as her first 'concert'. =) she loves dancing to the upbeat music, and her favorite dinosaur... dorothy!
Unfortunately (or luckily), my youngest never got into Wiggles.
I tried with the Wiggles.. I really did. But my Bug Hunter didn't like much of anything on TV til he was about K5 age (and now, if he starts watching, it's almost impossible to stop him!). But the Wiggles scared him, for some strange reason, and he would have nightmares after watching. Made me sad, because when they were on, Mommy got a little eye candy, too. MUCH better than Barney!
Anyway, I am glad to say that I was able to get into your blog just now; I have tried unsuccessfully for several weeks and it just wouldn't load. Hurray! Happy summer...!
My kids haven't gotten into the Wiggles. I have no idea when they are on T.V. I did buy a couple videos at a garage sale a few years ago. I'll have to pull them out and see if my daughter likes them. Don't enter me in the contest. I just wanted to let you know we're missing you on your blogcation, but I think it's great that you're getting to spend more time with family.
Oh, my. Wiggles are our new friends. It it the only reason I get to sleep a little extra in the mornings. We pop in the Wiggles DVD and snooze for 20 or 30 more minutes!
'Fruit salad, yummy, yummy!'
I've never seen the Wiggles. Heard of them but never seen them and since I don't have kids, I have no reason to watch them. But I bet my wonderfully adorable nephews would love to see them. And Comcast Arena is like 5 minutes from me (and 10 or 15 from my sister. ;0) )
Since Laney wasn't ale to go see NKOTB with us I'd love for her to see the Wiggles for her very first concert. It would be truly yummy for her!
