What the %@*#?! Wednesday, Easter Edition

Yesterday, the sun finally came out, the snow melted and it actually felt like Spring in Seattle! So I painted a flower pot, dressed up the kids, grabbed some props and headed out to the backyard to snap some Easter portraits.

Nearly 300 frames later, I had not one single decent shot to show for all my hard work. What the %@*#?! Is it so much to ask that both kids just look at the camera at the same time for one split second without crying or making a stupid face?!?! I'm not even asking for a smile here, just anything without tears or tongues, sheesh! Couldja help a mutha out here, please? Grrrr....

Sounds like my boys - I'm always taking tons of pictures and only end up with 1 or 2...decent...ones LOL

The flower pot it super cute though!

I can totally empathize! And I only have ONE kiddo to coordinate!

I agree... love the flowerpot. Want to paint one for me? I'll even swing by and pick it up :) Since, of course, you only swing through our town on potty breaks, tee-hee (yes, I remember you comment on Heather's blog, LOL).

Aren't you glad for the digital age? That didn't cost you anything for an afternoon of pulling out your hair!

OMGoodness!! Those are way cute pictures. Adorable!! I too can take about 300 of my kids and never get real good ones so I try to make a short story out them to put on my blog.hehe. That's so cool that we have the same name. I was going to go by Cari when I was little but them someone else I was close to had that name so couldn't do that. And love the name Carebear. Hope to get to know you better. Your kids are adorable. I am an official follower now. Have a great day!!

Darling!!!!! All of those photos.

My Wordful is posted now. Thing is, the photos aren't of good quality this time since I had to photograph them through the dining room window.

Happy Wednesday to you.

How CUTE are they!? Their outfits are darling and the props are great. I like the one with the watering can and the "flower". So cute!
I totally understand about trying to get a good picture. It's harder than you'd think!

Too funny!

Yup it is a challenge to get two wee ones cooperating at the same time.

There is an advantage to having a stranger photograph your kids, ever notice your kids behave much better with others than they do with you??

And YES, BabyMama would be happy to fly out and perform this invaluable service for you. ;)

Oh! I remember when the sun comes out in Seattle, thats when you put on your capris or shorts and enjoy!!! I used to bug me when they called the sun peaking out a sun break and it only lasted a second! I will send you some sunshine from AZ:D Have a good day!

Great pics - it is so funny how we get best picture opportunities and then the subjects are less than cooperative! But the color is fabulous. That first pic is priceless!!

LOL. They are still beautiful though!

Thanks for stopping by my blog this morning. :)

Heather said...

LOL! I usually just give up after a few tries. The one of Beast watering Beauty is pretty good though! I bet if you wouldn't have gotten them all dressed up, they would have cooperated. You know how kids are!

Busy Mama said...

WOW - so as a mom that used to have 3 under 3 - I hear every word you are saying. It is crazy but oh so good! My mom used to tell me - just today, Becky, just today! That got me through.
As for getting a perfect pic - it's ok - some of those "fun" ones are more precious than the perfect ones!

BTW - you've been surfed - visit my blog to pick up your prize if you are interested. :)

We must have been thinking exactly the same yesterday because I did Easter pics at the house as well. Girl, I know your feeling about getting them to BOTH look at the camera, hands down and smiling at the same time. UGH! So stressfull but the end result is worth it. Your plant holder is such a PERFECT IDEA!!! LOVE IT!

I don't think there are words for how cute the one where he is watering her is! I love it!!

Miss Mouthy said...

That makes me feel so much better. No wonder I can't get a decent picture when I only snap 10 or so!

MaryAnne said...

I love the first picture, they are both so clearly not in a cooperative mood!

You may not of gotten the Easter photo you wanted, but you got some hilarious character shots of your little beast!

They are still adorable. And, don't you just love it when they are cooperative?

Oh my goodness, that is to funny. The same stuff goes on here. I just can't get one of them looking at the camera at all. They both look great, love the outfits and the props.

That is hilarious! But, the one where's pouring water on her turned out great!

kel said...

Oh my gosh... those are the cutest shots ever!!

Ally said...

Oh man your kids are too cute!

The one where the beast is sitting on the flower pot and pouting is just priceless. You'll get great milage out of that one when he's older!

Chris said...

Yes. That is too much to ask.

Having said that, I think you got some great shots here -- I think the shot with the watering can is priceless!

I think they're great pictures! It shows the personalities of the kids. I love the pouty one of the Beast and the watering can one the best. Someday, you can show him those pictures and say, "See? See what I went through?"

Your kids are adorale, and I think the pictures are so cute too! A little personality never hurts that's what makes the pictures!

....my youngest didn't smile for a picture until she was 2... The first two years of her life were documented as her "angry" stage....
Oh the laughs we have about it now though. I think the pics are adorable. I especially love the sweater your son is wearing. The color is awesome! :) Your kids are adorable...just wanna squeeze em..

Kelly said...

ADORABLE! They are simply precious! I love the pictures!

Synergy Girl said...

So did you do what I end up doing, and start yelling and using the "mean" voice demanding that they smile...it works EVERY time...ya...really....it....does......!!!!!

You did get some super cute shots though...even though they aren't what you were hoping for!

I love the top picture best - it seems to capture their moods: curious and hungry.

The one (you know which one!) looks like he might think he's in an outhouse. So funny.

I thought my husband was going to wig out when he saw over $100 worth of pictures I bought (this was over 13 years ago) when our 14yo son was under a year. I took all 3 boys to have pics made, individual and group and our youngest was bawling, even had a sucker the photographer had given him to try to get him to quit crying in some. My husband was why did you buy them with him crying, why didnt you reschedule? I said, well that is how he was that day, LOL!!!!

ROFLMAO...this is hilarious...

maybe next time!

lol I love the pic where it looks like he's "straining" over the pot, if you know what I mean. Ha! Such a great boy picture.
