Yes, he's crying. Because he got scolded. But you'll stop feeling sorry for him by the end of this post, I promise...
Had enough?! Me too, but the little Beast is not done yet!
Just look at that smug little smirk on his face! He knows he's winning!
Dude. You're three feet tall. How did you manage to mess up the curtains?!?!
And last but not least - The Great Diaper Disaster:
(Check out the full story of this photo - and my favorite naptime mess EVER - at this previous post.)
Anyway, these are just the battles I have photos of. I could bore you for hours with my naptime war stories, like the time the little Beast took off his own dirty diaper and used its contents to redecorate his bedroom. Ugh! Lately he's been escalating his offensive and I think it's probably about time I waved the white flag of surrender. But, boy, does it ever rankle being bested by a two year old! Grrrr...

Holy Freakin' Cow!!
Maybe I should send you some of my blood pressure meds... It sounds like you need it more than I do!
I feel for you dear. {big hugs}
Wow.. I did not expect the diaper picture.. He is inventive!
OMG I would just die if that mess happened to me. You know I remember something that Dr. Phil once said: Take everything out of his room except the mattress and as he progresses with naptime he can earn them back one thing at a time. I have learned as a daycare provider that, that really works in most cases. Look at it this way, you would have less to clean up afterwords. If you try it, let me know how it works out for ya. I am wishing you the best of luck.
Aaaah! Why was my first inkling was to dive into those diapers and swim around and flap my arms?
It's okay, you can scold me too.
I remember those days! The girls are much easier!
Holy cow! Yep he's a toddler.
How funny! Although, I'm sure it didn't SEEM that way at the time. :) My now 12 year old son once took off his diaper and "stuffed" the contents into many small hiding places in his room. It took weeks to find them all, trying to follow the stench.
Oh my goodness! What a mess! He sure know how to push buttons. I would lock all his stuff in the closet and leave him in an empty room to nap. ;)
ARG! Boys!
Hang in there, just remember, don't start a battle you don't intend to win. We children feed on signs of weakness.

I would say from looking at the pictures that he probably wasnt tired when you tried to put him in for a nap. But after...he must have been exhausted. I love the photo of the curtains and the diapers!
Whoa!!! He's good!
Holey Moley Batman...that kid has some mad skills..I love the curtains and the diapers!
I recall an incident about 30 years ago with my own Father...I recall yelling through my door to him "clothes, you want clothes? I'll give you clothes" as I proceded to empty out my closet and drawers all of my bedroom floor. That will teach him to let me wear a bikini in the dead of winter.
Cleaning it all up was no fun.
Love the diapers.
What a little stinker. But, boy is he a cute little stinker. I remember days like this.
Bless you, mama! That's some impressive work in that room!
I'm still pondering exactly how he messed up the curtain?!?!?
Bust out the duct tape and the tazer gun...someones goin' down!!!
We've had wipe mountain before. Yikes! Good for you for sticking with it.
You are such a fun friend to know.
okay I am never complaining about my non-sleeping child again!
Um, yeah, I don't think I can complain again. Yikes!!! Retreat, retreat! The beast is SO winning!
He is an adorable imp, but exhausting. I've had 5 of t hem and only one napped good. The mattress off the bed cracked me up, my boys used to do that all the time! Anyhow, that is why I gave up on naps pretty early on in their little lives.
He is WELL skilled! Be glad he's not twins!!!!
oh my goodness...the tazmanian devil cartoon character springs to mind...
its the little angelic smile...
well, at least we have kids to put us in our place, it would be awful to think for a moment we were the ones in control lol!
Oh Good Lord.
I am gonna have to dodge the rotten fruit if I say my kiddo usually naps without too much fuss. But I definitely gotta set him up for it. Two-year-old boys need to be WORN OUT :) That's my theory for nearly all parenting issues :) Running around outside can't help but tucker those little guys out.
The curtains had me totally stumped! Loved the diapers...
Thought I don't know if anything beats my favorite story from a friend... his mother went to get him out of his crib and realized that he'd stripped and covered himself with Vaseline! She couldn't even pick him up, he slipped out of her grasp every time! Can you imagine the mess?
Oh wait... I guess you can :) Don't worry, our kiddo makes up for any non-nap-drama!
Well, he sure earned his nick name eh? I swear I am leaving my boy in the crib until he's 5. At least then I can assure he stays in one spot. (and yes the crib tent is in effect!)
oh my goodness...my psf was about naptimes battles too, but after ready yours I feel much better! He certainly seems to have a lot of energy. The pictures say a lot, but he's so cute it's hard to be frustrated with him! lol
Oh my gosh!! Unbelievable! Everyone has been there at one time and another but I feel for you in your turn:-(
I'm so thinking he was hurling diapers up at his window to mess up the curtins... that's the only thing I could think of. lol
He has mad skills when it comes to destroying his room. WOW!
Hope you guys have a great weekend.
lol!!! Okay it's not funny, but it kinda is.
A toast to better nap times!
Oh boys...be thankful you only have one, I have THREE!!
Love the diaper shot. I personally find the "sprinkle baby powder everywhere, instead of taking a nap" the best. ;)
That boy has some MAD destruction skillzzzzz! That is some talent! And how much to I LOVE that you took pics of these events rather than totally melting down!! :)
Very impressive for a two-year-old...
I don't know whether to be horrified or impressed!
Holy smoke!
Do you call him "The Tornado"?
By the way, I dig that toddler size AC/DC shirt!
oh my gracious!
hehe.
goodluck
I fight this same battle, with very similiar outcomes. I will say Hanna has never taken the mattress off of the frame, but I'm sure not from lack of trying! I just give in most days. *Sigh*
Holy Cow Batman!!! Your little guy is a death threat to all ocd clean freaks!! Good luck with him!!
(Btw, I'm silently hoping mine isn't like that in a year, but I'm fearing he may be)
Oh no!!!!
One word-wow!
I conceded defeat awhile back and Noah only takes naps when he falls over from exhaustion LOL You should have seen our diaper mess...it looked alot like yours, but were dirty.
Oh my, what a little terror. I gave up too. If my little guy takes a nap he wants to be up until midnight, so I said were done. I'd rather he just go to bed early...Been there with the dirty diaper, good grief, it's gross.
UGH... ooooooh... what a little devil.
but those curtains.... those were impressive.
Oh wow. Hahahaha
oh no!!!!!!
but i have to say those are some funny pictures......
